An illustration of 'Inferno' by Dante.

FULL VIEW PLEASE!

Picture One- Title Page

Picture Two- Dante
Dante was a major Renaissance writer. His work, Inferno is still famous, even today.

Picture Three- Gates of Hell
Dante and Virgil approach the Gates of Hell. There are three verses inscribed upon it, warning all enterers.

I am the way into the city of woe
I am the way into eternal pain
I am the way to go among the lost

Before me there were no created things
But those that last forever - as do I
Abandon all hope you who enter here

Picture Four- Charon
Charon guides the boat on one of the five rivers of hell. It is his job to ferry people across

Picture Five- Seventh Circle
Dante and Virgil enter the second round of the seventh circle of Hell. The ones who committed suicide are trapped within thorny trees, while the people who harmed themselves are chased by dogs.

Picture Six- Malebolge
Dante and Virgil are in the third ditch of Malebolge in the eighth circle of hell. It is for the simonists, or those who profit from selling positions or things from the church. All of them are stuck face-down into a hole with their feet set afire. They meet Pope Boniface VIII and speak to him about his sucessor.

Picture Seven- Center of the Earth
Dante and Virgil reach Satan, and climb down his back. They reach the center of the earth which is enclosed in ice. Gravity is changed, and that is why Satan seems upside down. They both leaved through a cavern.

Okay, this was a school project for English class. *grins* I got a perfect score, with "It was gorgeous" said to me when she handed it back. c:
And I only did two verses on the gates of hell, because I could only fit two, and I returned the book to the library so I wasn't able to write it in the description.
<edit> I absolutely loooove the dogs expression. XD

The one with you and the crown. c:
What I found amazing about that is how you only had the primary colours.

Oh that. :/
That was water color and colored pencil. So I got to cheat a little.

Actually, we were given an entire basic palette (roygbiv, plus brown and black) and were instructed to make our own colors from those. xDD;

Still, it's pretty awesome.
I knowwwwww! That's why it's so awesome. If it was my choice, I would actually go buy the liquid water-colour paints and make my colours that way. But paint is expensive.
